FIRST AID IN NORTHUMBRIA ACF

"First aid is the immediate assistance given to someone who becomes injured or ill before professional medical care is available to them. Despite being a relatively small part of the APC syllabus, first aid is a core military skill that will almost certainly be put into practice during a cadet's lifetime.

Cadets receive their first grounding in first aid by completing the Heartstart basic life support course. This leads to the St John Ambulance Youth First Aid and Lifesaver First Aid courses, which all cadets complete. Senior cadets working towards APC 4-Star also have the option of obtaining the Activity First Aid qualification.

Northumbria are winners of the 15 (North East) Brigade ACF First Aid Competition and recently competed in the national competition at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, where, although they did not win, did themselves proud. Well done to the team and staff. See the link below for full results.
