Annual Camp 2010 was held at Queen Elizabeth Barracks, Strensall in North Yorkshire. Over 450 cadets and their Officers and Adult Instructors spent 10 days taking part in the various packages that had been put together by the County and Company Training Officers. These included a field excercise, APC training, a day out, shooting, and time on the water with kayaks and surfers.

NEW DETACHMENT PUBLIC MEETING

Cadets, Adult Instructors and Officers from Northumbria Army Cadet Force help a public meeting at the Town hall in Bellingham to gauge the public interest in opening a cadet detachmnet in the village. The response was good and the current expectation is to be able to open Bellingham Detachment in September 2010.

Cadets and Adults from Y and Z Companies take part in a competition laid on by the Newcastle Army Careers Office, and whilst Jesmond won the prize, at the end, all the cadets were winners because of the high standard of acheivement, discipline and rehersal.

CHEQUE PRESENTATION

Cadets from Ashington Detachment present a cheque for £ 300 to Elaine Martin of the Children's Cancer Fund, RVI in Memory of a cadet L/Cpl Ryan Francis. The cadets had completed a 20 mile sponsored walk around Druridge Bay.

2009 POPPY APPEAL CERTIFICATE PRESENTATION

ROYAL BRITISH LEGION HEBBURN 2010 -

Her Majesty's Lord Lieutenants of Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, and Durham presented Poppy Appeal Certificates for 2009 to cadet units and youth organisations in a ceremony at the Royal British Legion Club at Hebburn. The cadets raised over £ 40,000 for the British Legion in the North East.
