What is the Army Cadet Force?

The Army Cadet Force is Britain's oldest and best (our opinion) youth organisation. It is 150 years old this year, 2010. It is Not part of the Army Nor does it recruit for them, and there are more than 40,000 Cadets nationwide, and over 8,000 Leaders, in more than 1,700 Detachments. It's all about young people having fun in a physically and mentally challenging environment. Northumbria ACF has 900 cadets in 31 locations, with over 170 adult volunteers.

Our motto is:

"Inspire to Achieve"

WELCOME TO NORTHUMBRIA ACF's COUNTY WEBSITE.

2010 is going to be an exciting year as we celebrate Cadet150. This year the Army Cadet Force is 150 years old and we celebrated locally on the 12th of June at the Grey's Monument in Newcastle. There will be two displays of cadet activities from the Sea, Army and Air cadets.

The site will tell you what is going on locally. Look around to see what is happening and what has happened. The pages on the National Army Cadet Force Site will give you County and Detachment information such as "who is who" and the locations of our Detachments. Please use the blue tabs at the top of the page to visit them, or click on the link below.
