Unofficial Shooting Publications

Northumbria Army Cadet Force have been advised by Headquarters Land that two books called "Skill at Arms and Shooting Pocket Book" and a "Cadet Force Skill at Arms and Shooting Pocket Book" sold by the company "Military Pocket Books Ltd" are no longer endorsed by HQ Land.

The reason why they have withdrawn their endorsement, is because the company states, in the books that it takes no responsibilty for any inaccuracies or accidents which may arise as a result of using the information contained in the two books.

Colonel Wakelin, the SO1 Cadets at HQ Land, said "These unofficial shooting publications are potentially dangerous as they have no sanction at all from HQ LF of DINF and the cadet forces should be discouraged from buying them."

He added "the ACF now has some excellent publications which will, within a month be available on line to all adult instructors and the distribution of publications is being made much easier."
