Seaton Burn Detachment is open and training!!

The first 15 cadets who joined Seaton Burn Detachment, this autumn, at the Seaton Burn Community College on Dudley Lane have had their first weekend away and all have passed their Recruit's test on the weekend.

The detachment, which is badged to the Corps of Royal Engineers, opened during this school term and SSI Paul Groves, the Detachment Commander, took on the new recruits with a view to providing a community activity in the evenings for the young people of Seaton Burn. They parade at the school on a Tuesday night from 1900hrs to 2100hrs.

Staff Sergeant Groves now has fifteen 1 Star training cadets and hopes to start a new intake of recruits in January 2010.Details of the next recruit starting date will be published here as soon as they are known.
